James started his career in 1989 as a Corporate Trust Analyst at Manufacturers Bank (now Comerica). He also worked as a Trust Officer and Client Services Portfolio Manager for First of America Investment Corporation (now PNC Bank) and managed the investment research team for Plante Moran Financial Advisors. In a more recent position, James was Vice President and Global Investment Specialist in J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank, serving the Michigan market. He has a BS in Economics and a minor in Finance from Oakland University and a MS in Finance with distinction from Walsh College. James obtained his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation through IMCA and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in May 1998. He also earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation through the Alternative Investment Management Association in October 2009, and obtained the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation in December 2014.
