Leon LaBrecque, JD, CPA, CFP®, CFA Managing Partner

Leon is a practicing attorney, CPA, CFP® and CFA that has specialized in servicing individuals, families, and small businesses in the areas of financial, estate, and tax planning for over 32 years. LaBrecque’s extensive career includes previous work at Arthur Andersen, Plante Moran, and as the Department Chair of Finance and Economics at Walsh College where he created the Master of Science in Finance program. He has also authored several proprietary retirement planning programs for CalPERS, the states of Montana, and Washington, and corporate clients including General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Lucent, and AT&T, among others. LaBrecque’s specialties include investment management for foundations and non-profit organizations, financial planning for automotive employees and retirees, and retirement planning for police officers and firefighters


BradBrian Roehl, CFP® Senior Financial Advisor

Brian is a graduate of Michigan State University where he received his Bachelor’s in Accounting. He is also one of the original founders of LJPR, having helped form the company back in 1989. Brian has been in the financial services industry since 1982 when he received his first securities license. He has authored the book “Choices... A Guide to Pre-Retirement Planning” and co-authored several other publications. Brian has conducted seminars for several large multi-national corporations, and has appeared on local TV and radio shows. He is extremely knowledgeable in taxation, investing, and stock options.

    BradBrad Reynolds, CFA Financial Analyst

     

    Brad Reynolds is a Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) with over a decade of experience in the investment industry. Brad was Syndicate Manager for H+R Block, helping firms raise money through the new issue market. As both a fixed income and an equity trader, he has worked with major Wall Street firms. He assisted financial planners in building and managing client portfolios, as well as educating new financial planners. Brad was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in economics from the University of New Hampshire.


    Len Nowak, CFP® Financial Advisor

    Len is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with over a decade of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to working in the financial industry he earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan-Flint and served eight years in the Army Reserves as a Medic. He began his career at Morgan Stanley’s Midwest Division in Chicago as a Financial Advisor and later joined Charles Schwab & Company in 1999. While working at Charles Schwab as an Investment Specialist Len earned his financial planning accreditation through Florida State University and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. In 2005 he joined LJPR as a Financial Advisor where he uses his wide range of experience to help clients with portfolio management, education planning, estate, tax, and retirement planning. Len has lived most of his life in the Detroit and Flint area and currently lives in Rochester Hills with his wife and two children.


    MatthewMatthew Teetor Financial Advisor

    With a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and over 9 years of experience with LJPR, LLC, Matthew brings a wealth of information to his clients and colleagues. He specializes in the particular needs of current and retired police officers and firefighters and he co-authored the LJPR publication, “Guns and Hoses: A Retirement Guide for Michigan Police Officers and Firefighters,” which is a comprehensive guide to retirement issues specifically relevant to public safety officers.

     


    AlanAlan Miller, CPA, PFS® Financial Advisor

    Alan is a practicing CPA and Personal Financial Specialist with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University. His experience includes seven years with Plante & Moran, PLLC prior to co-founding Wilkie & Miller, CPAs, P.C. in Bloomfield Hills in 1991. Alan’s experience includes providing tax and financial services to individuals, small businesses and not-for-profit organizations, including tax planning and return preparation, retirement and investment planning, assurance services and general business consulting.


    MikerMichael D. Reed, AIF® Financial Advisor

    Mike started his career in 2000 with Seizert Capital Partners working as an equity analyst. He helped analyze companies for the firm’s three strategies as well as their hedge fund. He started at Citizens Bank Wealth Management in 2006 where he was an investment analyst and bond trader. He was responsible for analyzing and building both mutual fund and separate account models for clients. He also helped educate portfolio managers during the department’s change in investment philosophy. He has been with LJPR since 2011. Mike has a BA in economics from the University of Michigan and earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation in 2009. He is currently enrolled in the CFP® curriculum.


    JasonJason Budrick, CFP®, AWMA® Financial Advisor

    Jason is a graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance. Jason began his career in 2001 with Fidelity Investments where he gained valuable skills in advising clients on retirement and investment planning goals. Jason has been a Financial Advisor with LJPR since 2011. Jason holds certifications as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and as an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (SM).

    MariaMaria L. Avesian, JD Estate Planning Attorney

    Maria earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a law degree from the Detroit College of Law. She is a licensed attorney in the State of Michigan and is also a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Michigan Bar. Maria has been in private practice for over twenty years, primarily focusing on Estate Planning. She enjoys meeting with individuals and families to assist them with developing and implementing an Estate Plan specifically designed to meet their needs and the needs of their beneficiaries. The Estate Plans she develops reflect the client’s personal wishes as well as the goals established by the client and their Financial Advisor.


    AnnAnne M. Whipple Client Service Specialist

    Anne is a Senior Client Service Specialist assisting clients and Advisors with new accounts, asset transfers, cash requests, money movement, cost basis, RMDs, compliance reporting, database management, writing procedures and training. She utilizes her experiences as Operations Manager from another independent RIA firm as the basis for her work at LJPR, LLC. Anne has a Mechanical Engineering degree and has completed the Personal Financial Planning program at Oakland University and is currently working towards obtaining her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. Anne has additional post-graduate studies in Accounting and Taxes.

    Keri works as a Client Service Specialist assisting clients and Advisors with new accounts, asset transfers, cash requests, money movement, cost basis, RMDs and database management. She utilizes her 18 years of banking experience as a Private Client Service Associate for JPMorgan’s Wealth Management team as the basis for her work at LJPR, LLC.

    Lisa works as receptionist and as a graphic designer for the firm. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine and Performing Arts with a concentration in graphic design from Wayne State University. Her efficiency and effectiveness in managing communications and client relationships are derived from having over 15 years of experience at LJPR.

     

     


    James Mason Compliance Analyst

    James is a graduate of Central Michigan University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996. He has been in the financial services industry, focusing on Compliance, since 2007. He has worked in the compliance departments of small, boutique agencies such as Copper Beech Wealth Management in Bloomfield Hills, and independent broker/dealers, before coming to LJPR in October of 2012.

     


    Matthew Lagos Support Advisor

    Matt has earned a Bachelor’s in Finance from Oakland University. He began his career in the finance industry with Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union. Matt joined the LJPR team as a support advisor in the fall of 2012 and is currently working towards obtaining the Certified Financial Planner designation. Matt’s experience, which includes playing and coaching lacrosse at the collegiate level, have helped give him the unique tool set necessary to work in a team with client-centered goals. 


    Dawn Patton Client Service Specialist

    Dawn joined the LJPR team in April 2010 as a Client Service Specialist, assisting clients and Advisors with new accounts, asset transfers, cash requests, money movement, cost basis, RMDs and database management. Dawn also assists LJPR’s Estate Planning Attorney by preparing deeds. She has a Bachelor of Science in Medical Office Administration and uses her vast experience in customer service to support our staff and provide excellent service to LJPR clients.

    George Bundy Business Development Officer

    George graduated from Western Michigan University, receiving a Bachelor’s of Business Management degree. He has been involved with the financial services industry since 1980, using a diverse range of experience to work with individual clients, corporations and non-profits in the development and implementation of financial- based programs. At LJPR, providing comprehensive client solutions to today’s complex financial issues is a top goal.

     


    Md 72dpiMichael Diegel Director of Digital Media

    As the Director of Digital Media for LJPR, Michael provides unparalleled marketing practices. Michael’s career began at Levanto Financial as a Financial Services Coordinator assisting clients with household budgeting. He began at LJPR in the fall of 2010 and has since established a unique digital and social media presence. Michael has worked on several financial education programs for UAW-Ford and UAW-GM, and has consulted for small business and nonprofit clients on digital marketing solutions. Michael graduated from Oakland University in 2013 with a B.S. in Business Economics and a minor in International Management. 

     


     

     

     

    JosephineJosephine Dries Communications and Public Relations

    Josephine specializes in client and media relations. She is credited for earning LJPR and it's staff regular appearances as industry experts. Josephine supports the executive staff in a variety of ways including client relations and presentations. She has been certified by the Protocol School of Washington as a Corporate Protocol and Etiquette Instructor and speaks to a wide range of audiences on both business etiquette and how to brand yourself through media exposure. Josephine has extensive experience with business and office administration, having founded and grown some of her own companies.
